History

I am Lisa Flomo, I was born and raised in Monrovia, Liberia, West Africa. Growing up, I was unfortunate to have a father, my mother was my only parent. Due to financial circumstances, my mother couldn’t afford to pay my tuition therefore she sent me to live with family’s friends to help with my education. While living with these people from the age of six (6) through the age of seventeen (17), they educated me from kindergarten through 5th grade, at the same time, I sold markets on my head as a child labor. I was physically and verbally abused by these people. Right after Liberian Civil War in October 2003, I became independent and self-supporting after these people kicked me out of their home at the age of seventeen (17).

To continue my education, I begged people for place to stay, worked for people to pay my school fees, and learned many trades to improve my life including typewriter and computer. In August 2004, I playfully told my friends that I was going to build an affordable school bearing my name Lisa Flomo Institute and give scholarship to underprivileged students in Liberia.

As a victim of child abused and abandoned, I worked with many charitable organizations as a volunteer and contributor in support of women and children. On my birthday in November 18, 2014, I made a birthday wish to myself, that I will build affordable high-quality Institutes, healthcare centers and orphanage homes in Liberia and around the world to help people despite their financial circumstances and economic status. By March of 2022, my wish became a reality, the establishment of Lisa Flomo Institute Inc.

I ask for your support towards Lisa Flomo Institute Inc. to help educate children, provide healthcare to low-income people and orphanage home to the orphan. I appreciate what ever support you give and I thank you for your love and support.
