Lisa Flomo Institute is a nonprofit organization that builds and operates affordable high-quality education, healthcare center and orphanage home in Liberia. LFI gives charitable contributions to research, education, healthcare, Women and children development programs, and program that educate and protect women and children against domestic and sexual violence.

Liberia

Liberia is a country on the West coast of Africa. It was founded in the year 1822 by native Africans and free slaves from the United States of America. Liberia gained her independence in the year 1847 from the American Colonization Society (ACS). Liberia is Africa’s oldest and first independent nation and was never colonized during the Colonization period.

Liberia is a beautiful country with rich history, natural resources, friendly citizens, beautiful cultures and amazing traditions.

Liberia is considered one of the poorest countries in the world because of government officials’ poor level of education and corruption, which led Liberia to fifteen (15) years of civil war that left many Liberian dead and destroyed many properties in Liberia and also forced many Liberians to ran away to neighboring countries as refugees.

Today Liberia faces a lot of challenges, Such as: healthcare crisis, poor education, unemployment, development, infrastructure etc.

Liberia is divided into fifteen (15) counties, which includes Bomi, Bong, Gbarpolu, Grand Bassa, Grand Cape Mount, Grand Gedeh, Grand Kru, Lofa, Margibi, Maryland, Montserrado, Nimba, Rivercess, River Gee and Sinoe

Tribes in Liberia
English is the official language in Liberia. However, Liberia consists of seventeen (17) ethnic groups, they are, Kpelle, Bassa, Grebo, Gio, Mano, Kru, Lorma, Kissi, Gola, Krahn, Vai, Mandingo, Gbandi, Mende, Sapo, Belle and  Dey.

As a nonprofit organization, Lisa Flomo Institute prepares students for the demand of higher education, enable students to develop problem solving skills and aspirations to be thoughtful leaders of Liberia and the world.

Our goal is to provide affordable high-quality education to youths and young adults, affordable healthcare treatment for everyone and orphanage home to the orphans to call a place of their own.
